Hi everyone, In the present post I am attaching an interesting paper about viral movement in TMV, which I consider with to be important as a complement to the classes. Basically in this paper it is propose a model of transportation in which the MP (movement protein) associates with the ER generating an association complex, afterwards thanks to a concentration gradient the viral RNA will spread through the plasmodesmata. Apparently the plant in response to such invasion activates a mechanism, which triggers the accumulation of callose, in order to avoid or reduce such event the viral MP and possibly the replicase might downregulate or block that event leading to an optimal suppression of this defense mechanism which allows and facilitates the movement from cell to cell. Thanks.
